Big weekend 'round these parts. Can't really say much til next week.
Until then, wish us luck!

Sad Face.
SOMEBODY is sleepy because they were up all night with a fever.
Poor punkin.
And SOMEBODY'S mommy let him do this because he's not feeling well and doesn't want to eat ...
... while we're waiting for our doctor's appointment at 11:30. I'm thinking it's an ear infection. Runny nose, fever, no appetite, cranky but also acting himself?
Sounds like that's the culprit.
But I'll let the doc confirm that.
Until then, yogurt painting it is!
Update: We (he) have a virus. Boooooo. No antibiotic quick fix to make my boy feel better, just have to wait it out. Double boooooo.

7 Years.
Today is the Mister and I's 7 YEAR ANNY! I can't believe it's been 7 years since I married my best friend. Happy Anniversary sugar!
Yes, I know I was skinny. WAS being the operative word. Let's not talk about that, mmmmkay?
The Mister's parents are keeping C while we go out for a quick anny din-din tonight. Can't wait to celebrate one of the BIGGEST blessings the Lord ever gave me.
Happy Monday!

Weekly Encouragement.
Have y'all heard of the Jesus Calling devotional by Sarah Young? I bought the app on my iPhone and let me tell you, it KIND OF freaks me out (and makes me wonder if she's got a bug in my house somewhere) how MUCH this devotional daily meets me RIGHT. WHERE. I. AM.
Ever feel inadequate? Like there's not enough hours in the day? Like you should/could/NEED to be doing more? Well, read on my friends, read on ...
"I love you regardless of how well you are performing. Sometimes you feel uneasy, wondering if you are doing enough to be worthy of My Love. No matter how exemplary your behavior, the answer to that question will always be no.Your performance and My Love are totally different issues, which you need to sort out. I love you with an everlasting Love that flows out from eternity without limits or conditions. I have clothed you in My robe of righteousness, and this is an eternal transaction: Nothing and no one can reverse it. Therefore, your accomplishment as a Christian has no bearing on My Love for you. Even your ability to assess how well you are doing on a given day is flawed. Your limited human perspective and the condition of your body, with its mercurial variations, distort your evaluations.
Bring your performance anxiety to Me, and receive in its place My unfailing Love. Try to stay conscious of My loving Presence with you in all that you do, and I will direct your steps.
The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”
-Jeremiah 31:3
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
-Isaiah 61:10
Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.
-Psalm 31:16
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men,
-Psalm 107:8"
Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
I hope this provided some encouragement for y'all today! If nothing else I want this blog to provide some humor, some fun and lots and LOTS of encouragement.
God loves you.
JUST AS YOU ARE.
Idn't that neat?
Take that AMAZING tidbit into your weekends and make it a joyous one!

Still Got It?
I shared this story awhile ago with my facebook friends but made a mental note to share with the little ole' blog because, well I just thought it was too funny not to. And because this might be the only time this ever happens to me again and I wanted it in written form for proof after I lose my mind whenever we decide to have another child and my brain disintegrates completely when I'm 80.
The other day (read, a month or two ago) I was on the way to meet my mom and grandma with C to do a little retail therapy. It was the ONE time inmonths weeks I had actually straightened my hair (cough, cough ... I usually let it air dry ... cough, cough ... and I'm one of those poor girls that, pre-hair dryer and straightener days, would've had to check herself into a monastery ... or died with 85 cats ... you get the picture, that's what my sweet husband lives with, thank the Lord for headbands and ponytail holders) put on makeup and normal (ahem, NOT SWEATS) clothes and actually felt like a semi-cute human being (and not the post "just" - yeah KDub, he's 18 mo. you can't use that anymore - had a baby mommy monster). Couple all that with the fact that it was a GORGEOUS spring day in Texas and my little man was squealing with delight in the back seat all = me driving with the windows down and music up (as loud as I could so as to not damage my baby's eardrums) in a blissfully joyous mood.
Now that that picture is painted for you ...
I pull up to a stop light behind a car full of boys, music bumpin', actin' silly with a bumper sticker representing the high school I graduated from. I sat there, minding my own business, bumpin' to my own music and noticed one of them turn around and shoot a glance at me. He then turned around, said something to his friend and the rest of them turned around while the driver glanced at me in the rear view mirror. One of them mouthed what was clearly the word "babe" while continuing to smile at me. I smiled, an embarrassed smile, and waited for them to turn back around but they kept on ... acting like 16-year-olds. So, I then decided to lift up my ring finger and proceeded to point at my wedding ring while shooting them a "I'm a happily married woman" smile. They then, ERUPTED in harmonious laughter and the same one that had mouthed the flattering word earlier proceeded to mouth the word ...
"Cougar!" ...
...
...
30 years old. I've already reached it. COUGAR!?!
Ugh.
I guess I'll take that as a compliment? Does anyone else still feel like they're 16 (with a baby in the back seat of your mom SUV) or maybe at least 18? Sometimes I wonder if I'll feel this way when I'm 40. And then I immediately feel guilty for making my parents feel like they were such dorks when I was in my teens. Oh how things truly come full circle.
That's all from this cougar.
Rarrrrrr.

What I'm Loving ...
Two posts in a day?
Shoot yeah y'all!
Why?
Because I wanted to link up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday ...
And what I'm loving IS ...
That the weather is amazing enough outside for me and my two guys to do this ...
And I'm loving that once we're home they do this ...
(as my heart explodes, LOVE!)
What are you loving? Head over to Jamie's blog and link up!

Camp Shirt!
Remember when I told you about my friend who is selling these shirts to bring her sweet boy that's waiting to come home to Texas from Ethiopia?
Well, some of you may not remember cause you're new here (and WELCOME either back if you're coming back from ... you know ... before or if you're a first time reader, I'M THRILLED TO HAVE YOU!) but let me tell you, the shirts are cute and they go to a good cause.
Anyway, the first time I told you I'd post a picture of C in his when I got it. So here's the proof of the promise ...
Aren't the shirts adorable?!? Now granted, it's a LITTLE big on C, that's only because the smallest size they come in is a 2-4. All that means is he'll get more wear out of it! Which is always a plus for this momma.
So head on over to Wynne's blog or click on the link above to get you (they have grown up sizes too!) or your little one today!

Weekend in iPhone pics.
The weekend in review. iPhone style.
Friday night we celebrated the Mister's WAY belated birfday (it was March 24th)
Sillies celebrating the Mister's Virrrtthhhhday (inside joke)
Me and the birfday boy.
Then, Saturday night, my Mamaw was sweet enough to come over and stay with C while we met up with some friends.
Um, hey there Jergens, you may have slathered on one too many layers of the lotion K-dub. Looking a little Jersey Shore-ish.
And today we're just lazy-ing around.
Oh, remember that post I did about hating smocking? Well, this is as close to C will ever get to it, and I have to admit, I think this is pretty darn cute ...
That's about it from me friends.

New Digs!
Um, seriously? Check me out y'all! I got a new do! My amazingly talented friend, miss Fabulous K, HOOKED ME UP and pimped out my blog. And OMGoodness I LOVE! Thank you sweet friend for the amazing blog facelift!
How's everyone doing this FRIDAY (did you just do a happy dance too? cause I did) morning? We have some fun plans this weekend including celebrating a WAY belated birthday for the Mister tonight and hanging out with a few friends on Saturday night.
Speaking of friends, the Mister was super dad last night and let me go have a little momma's night out that included Mexican food and margs. One of my favorite combos.
We had ourselves a good little time.
And in totally unrelated cuteness, I caught another little brudderly moment on camera yesterday ...
Seriously, couldn't stage this stuff if I tried. Love these two.
Happy weekend all!

Easter "Bunny".
We had a fussy, sleepy, cranky little boy yesterday so we kept C home to make sure he wasn't coming down with something. But that doesn't mean we didn't have Easter for him here ...
His basket ...
Brought by ...
The Easter "bunny". Ha! Koda's such a good sport.
The Mister watched the little guy and took daddy duty so I could attend one of my sides of the family's Easter gatherings ...
Sillies on Easter!
It was a good day, it rained which put a damper (ha) on the egg hunts but once it cleared the kiddos were able to get out and catch a glimpse of what the bunny left them.
I hope y'all had a blessed Easter and, most importantly, were able to reflect on the love of our Risen Savior.

Good Friday.
Hello loves! Happy Good Friday to you!
I'm taking time today to reflect on the amazing sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for us today. And honestly, it should be reflected on every day.
I am constantly humbled and in awe that God sent His son, HIS SON, to die for us. After becoming a mother, that took on a whole different meaning. Because you THINK you know how much a parent loves their child. Until you have one. And then your definition of love changes. It's something you can never describe to someone until they experience it. And to know, to KNOW that God loves me enough to send His son to die for me? It truly brings me to my knees and tears at the same time.
Think about that today. Reflect on that truth. The truth that because of Him we don't have to live in fear anymore. We don't have to live in shame. We are redeemed, set free, alive and FORGIVEN forever. Because of Him. Because He paid the ultimate price.
Thank you Jesus.
And on a sidenote, as I'm reflecting during my son's nap I'm doing so in a pretty awesome way ...
Happy Easter everyone, have a wonderful day celebrating the RISEN Savior Sunday. And every day for that matter.

Kid's Camp Shirts.
Morning glories!
I was perusing some of my fav's last night, catching up on what's going on in some of my friends (both blog and real life) lives and remembered (duh) that I'd forgotten to share this ...
http://elderadventures.blogspot.com/2012/03/kids-camp-shirts-are-here.html
... with you! These adorable tshirts (that also come in adult sizes, I'm thinking of getting myself one too!) are available in kiddo sizes (2T on up) and you can bet your bottom dollar I ordered one for C! Like I've already said, they're adorable, but the BEST part is they help fund bring little Camp home from Africa to his sweet parents, and his momma is a sweet friend of mine that I went to Baylor with! To find out more about their story and precious Camp visit that link up there and to help bring little Camp home go and get you, your kiddos, your kiddo's friends, your friends and anyone you can think of an "I heart Camp" tshirt. Believe me, you'll be glad you did! I can't wait to post pictures of C in his!
I mean seriously, check out these nuggets in their I heart Camp tshirts ...

Twisted Tuesday.
So, if you've seen the news you've seen that Texas was hit pretty hard yesterday by SEVERAL tornados.
Now, I have several things in my list of biggest, worst nightmare fears. Including sharks, breaking down at night, in the middle of nowhere (hello Texas Chainsaw Massacre?) driving on icy roads, and other such irrational things. And one of them? Well one of them happened all around us yesterday. Tornados. For like an hour and a half the DFW metroplex was on again off again under tornado warnings. The sirens went off several times, Koda howled like he was having foghorns blown in his ears every time and my sweet boy napped the majority of the way through it. Thankfully we are okay, just freaked out for a bit (ESPECIALLY since we live in a patio home that has NO rooms that are not on exterior walls) but sadly a lot of the rest of the metroplex wasn't so lucky.
So in your prayers would you lift the DFW area up tonight? Especially Arlington, Lancaster and Forney. There were several homes just flattened in those areas. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported but that doesn't mean people aren't still hurting.
In between sirens blowing, this little guy spent his time going from one window to the next wondering what all the fuss was about ...
"Momma, why can't I go outside?"

A Boy and His Dog.
So I always envisioned Koda being this super protective big brother always needing to be right by the munchkin's side. But to be honest? He doesn't seem super interested, in fact it's the other way around. Poor Koda, sometimes I'm pretty sure he's just trying to get away from C, but he plays along for the most part. I will say one thing, this boy LOVES his pup.
I swear I don't position them like that. Swear.
I sure do love my boys.

I'm SO Proud of Myself!
Anyone notice anything different 'round these parts?
I pimped out my page! I just couldn't stand the tacky random template I had and while waiting for my sweet friend to make my "new do" I figured I'd go ahead and spruce up the place?
What do you think? Lucky for me it was SUPER DEE DUPER (watching too much Barney ya think?) easy!
That's all I've got for today, happy Monday loverlies!

Taking Time to Stop and Smell the Flowers.
One of the MANY perks of living in Texas?
Adorable bluebonnet pictures with your kiddos. Now, with a 17 mo old it's a little more challenging than it was this time last year ...
... but at the same time, easier (about 10 minutes after taking this picture, he tumped over and bonked his head sending his mother into a tizzy CONVINCED he had a concussion. If I only knew the number of times this child would fall and smack his head in the future. Oh to be so nieve again.)
We ended up getting some super cute pictures. In between me flailing about like a maniac trying to keep the bumblebees from stinging him. Sheesh. So here they are, I give you ...
